Shoes Like Pottery are sneakers manufactured artisanally in Japan using a vulcanisation process called "ka-ryu". This process is rarely used due to its complexity and only a small amount of people with the right machines are still producing it in Japan. In the ka-ryu process, each shoe is fired in a kiln which causes the sulfur to chemically react, returning the rubber to its natural elasticity and creating a soft, flexible, and durable sole. In addition to this process, Shoes Like Pottery are hand finished and use beautiful canvases with bright colours for the summer or the more traditional black and white shoes. Finally, the blue sole and the blue stamp are the trademark of Shoes Like Pottery. This details tell you that, indeed, Shoes are like Pottery.
