The Story

This is a reproduction of the Cossack Jacket, which first appeared in the 1930s, made with full-vegetable tanned horsehide leather from Shinki Leather Co., Ltd. The origins of the jacket can be traced back to the "A-1" flight jacket adopted by the U.S. Navy and Army Air Corps from the early 1900s to the 1920s, and the short-length work jackets worn by laborers at the time.

The name "Cossack" is said to have originated from the fact that its silhouette resembled the traditional jackets worn by cavalry (Cossack soldiers) in southern Russia and Ukraine, and that American catalogs at the time (such as Sears and Montgomery Ward) named it as a product name. The story of Albert Einstein wearing it as everyday wear is very famous.

This jacket faithfully reproduces the classic design, including the distinctive shawl collar, buttoned front and side adjusters, and cuffed sleeves, and the pattern has been carefully crafted. The lining is made of thick cotton rayon, resulting in a very comfortable jacket.
