Youhei Gotou founded JELADO in 2005, but he is also a former professional kickboxer... which means he doesn't joke around when it comes to accuracy and stubbornness. To the point that he mentions in an interview that "we developed the JELADO "Last Resort Denim" by dismantling deadstock products and requesting analysis from a national inspection agency, reproducing everything from cotton fiber length, thread thickness, number of twists, and number of threads according to the retrieved data."
Youhei is also passionate about his work. In the same interview, he continues: " ever since I was a student, I had a dream, or rather a goal: to open a clothing store. What is happening today is just the normal continuity of this dream. With JELADO, I make things I want to wear and things I'm proud to deliver to my customers."
