Clinch Boots
Minoru Matsuura is originally a cobbler, passionate about handcrafted leather boots. In 2007, he opened the Brass Repair shop in Tokyo, with the aim to revive beloved Goodyear welted shoes. A few years later, he decided to create is own boot from scratch. With that came the brand name "Clinch" which is, according to the website Stitchdown.com a "plate mounted on the bottom of the shoe last, making the nails curl, forming a hook that locks them in place".
Clinch boots are hand-made in the Brass Shoe Co. repair store by Mr. Matsuura and his really small team. It is meticulous work aimed at promoting handmade products with the greatest attention to detail and honoring the authentic know-how of the Master bootmakers of the 1940s.
