The Penny Loafers from Alden are probably their most versatile makeup. It works wonderfully with a pair of denim or with a smarter outfit. This version is the iconic 6243F that comes unlined and with handsewn toe box.
What is Suede? Suede leather is made from the inner part of an animal's hide (the corium). It is therefore less resilient compared to a full-grain leather, but is however really appreciated for its softness, pliability, comfort and patina. Suede develops very quickly the famous "rolls" on the toe box which gives the boots a "worn-in look".

- Made at 1 Taunton Street, Massachusetts, USA in the Alden family factory.
Note: Imperfections on the leathers are normal and expected as the leathers used by Alden are not heavily finished but keeping their natural finishes as much as possible. (unlike leathers from luxury brands)
According to my size US11 on the brannock scale:

D Width / Average width and volume feet:
- it is advisable to size down 0.5 if you have a narrow or average width foot.

E Width / Bigger than average width and higher volume feet:
- stick with your brannock size if you have wide foot or taller instep.
You may get heel slip depending on your foot shape, which is normal for a pair of loafers. You will never get a precise fit like a lace-up shoe.

Maintain the quality and appearance of your Snuff Suede with a suede brush. Enhance its rejuvenation by using a suede spray. Avoid applying waterproofing spray as it can restrict the natural breathability of the leather by sealing its pores.
