The Story
A Jacquard fabric refers to any type of pattern that is woven directly on the fabric itself, rather than embroidered, printed or stamped, for example. In this iteration by Jelado, they used a pattern from a vintage shirt (1950s).
To weave the pattern, they used a cotton from the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). BCI mission is to harvest cottons with less water and pesticides, improving the soil in which the cotton grows. They also pay attention to the working condition of the farmers. Together, they chose an Indian long staple cotton, which as a soft texture and is ideal for Jacquard patterns.
